BREEDING
We never recommend that a mare is
covered by a stallion before 3 years of age, in order to permit its
growth to be complete (thus, the first foal does not arrive before the 4th
year (11 months gestation)).
WEANING
We do not recommend that weaning of the
foal takes place before 6 months and if (at the 6 months)
it is winter, we recommend that it is delayed until the Spring.
CARE
Do not forget that miniature horses,
like other breeds, require, throughout the year, fresh water, salt,
supplementary minerals and (during inclement weather) horse feed granules
and shelter.
Also, don't forget that your miniature
horse will need the regular attention of a farrier and regular worming.
